Pink and Magenta Spring Trends

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA for a bit. Life got a little crazy around October- I moved states with my husband and our dog from a 3400 square foot house in Washington to a 500 square foot apartment in the Bay Area. I quit my job, David started a new job, then we moved again (to LA) and I changed medications and wasn't feeling good from the change, yadda yadda. Lots of life changes and my emotions were very up and down. I'm feeling much more like my normal self again! :) Thanks for your patience and understanding and I navigate these ups and downs of life.

OK so - now that February of 2019 is almost over, that means that both the Grammys and the Oscars have happened. Did you watch either of them? I didn't get to watch the Grammys but I watched the Oscards and LOVED EVERY FREAKING MINUTE OF IT. Omg, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's duet was so f*cking iconinc, and I'm so happy (SPOILER ALERT) that Rami Malek won best actor for Bohemian Rhapsody - if you haven't seen the film yet you HAVE TO GO SEE IT, it's absolutely spectacular, and he 100% deserved to win. I was also thrilled that Greenbook won for Best Picture - it was one of my favorite films of 2018. Def a must see. Now I have to go watch The Favourite, BlacKkKlansman and Roma.

At the Grammys and the Oscars I (along with everyone else paying an ounce of attention) noticed that pink and magenta were huge red carpet trends this year. I guess a bunch of people on Twitter were making fun of Kacey Musgraves' dress saying it looked like a pink loofah but OK first of all - who doesn't love pink loofahs? And second of all - her dress is f*cking AMAZING and was maybe my favorite look of the whole night.

Ya I'm sorry, what was that? Haters gonna hate hate hate? F*cking iconinc. Plus, Kacey won Album of the Year at the Grammys so she's def like f*ck y'all, I do what I want.

Plus her eyebrows are soooo YES - just, yes. To everything.

OK another dress that Twitter took to talking about was Linda Cardellini's.

GOD I think this dress is f*cking incredible - again, gimme all the ruffles and chiffon and mama's a happy girl. She looks SO HAPPY and let's face it - aren't happy girls the prettiest girls? (/women?)

People were saying she looked like Big Bird's sister or a Muppet - blah blah blah, just goes to show you - not everyone is going to like what you do, say, or wear, so you gotta do you, boo.

Moving on to Gemma Chan... This was my second favorite look of this night. I love it even more now that I know she apparently stuffed her dress pockets with cookies - a girl after my own heart FOR SURE.

F*cking legend. Loving the high ruffled neckline too.

Ruffles and high necklines are everything this year.

Here's Angela Bassett in a stunning one shoulder gown.

LOVE the volume on the off the shoulder piece - SO STUNNING.

Let's talk makeup. Cardi B stunned at the Grammys in her vintage Mugler couture gown from 1995 but can we talk about her eyeshadow?!

Hi, we are not worthy. Who else could pull this off, really though? Perfect for her big win of Best Rap Album.
